I have a question about a piece I see online, who should I call?

You are welcome to call our Columbia location at 803-779-2250 during business hours. For more information about our store, please visit our Locations page here.

Why can’t I purchase jewelry and watches on your website?

Currently, we do not sell our jewelry and watches online because we feel it’s important to invest time with each and every one of our customers to ensure the best shopping experience possible. We are more than willing to schedule a call, Skype or Facetime with you on any piece you may be interested in. Our plan is to launch e-commerce in the near future when we can guarantee that you will receive the level of assistance virtually as you would in one of our stores.

Are all of your pieces online in stock?

If an item is on our website, it is in stock in our store*. However, we also make these products available in our downtown Columbia location and there is a small chance that an item could sellout in one of our stores and isn't removed from the website immediately. If you would like to schedule an viewing, we will hold any piece until your arrival. You can do that by clicking the "Schedule a Viewing" button on any item page or by scheduling an appointment here.

*Please Note: Some of our items may need to custom ordered to accommodate individual sizing.

Do you offer appraisals?

Yes, we are happy to evaluate your family heirloom, estate collection or a new piece at our downtown Columbia location. We provide this documentation at no additional charge when you purchase an item new from Sylvan's Jewelers.

If the piece was purchased from another retailer, we charge $95 per item for the first appraisal and $75 per item for any additional ones.

We also provide “while you wait” appraisals by appointment. The cost of a “while you wait” appraisal is $125 for the first item and $95 for each additional item. You can learn more about our appraisal services here.

Do you design custom engagement rings or jewelry?

Yes, we have a team of custom design experts that can help you craft your one-of-a-kind piece. If you would like to make an appointment to speak with our team about a new design, please contact us here.

Do you service watches or replace batteries?

Yes, we can service almost every Swiss timepiece and have extensive experience repairing watches made by Luminox, Michele, Raymond Weil, Rolex, and many other fine watch brands. Do you repair watches and jewelry?

Yes, at Sylvan's Jewelers we offer a wide variety of jewelry and watch repairs. Depending on the amount of work that needs to be executed and the cost of the materials involved, the price of your repair may vary but we will provide you with an estimate of cost and time before we begin any work. Do you engrave jewelry, watches and gifts?

Whether you are looking for a personal message, monogram, drawing, corporate logo, or signature, our engraving staff will create a work of art that you can pass down from generation to generation. If you would like to receive a quote for an engraving project, please contact us here.

*Please Note: Not all items are suitable for engraving. We can inspect your item to determine its eligibility and successful outcome.

Do you offer complimentary gift wrapping?

Yes, we offer free gift wrapping at no additional charge on any of our pieces.

Do you buy estate, vintage or pre-owned jewelry?

We do buy estate or pre-owned jewelry and watches directly from the public depending on the piece. Please contact our estate jewelry manager, Arnold Schiffman, here for more information.

Is Sylvan's Jewelers still a family owned business?

Yes, we are a family owned business. Sylvan's Jewelers is currently owned and managed by the Schiffman family who have been dedicated industry professionals since 1893. Read more about our story here.
